Free fluid therapy calculators
Free fluid therapy calculators to help veterinary staff deliver safe and effective fluid therapy to their patients have been launched by Dechra. Available at www.fluidtherapy.co.uk, the calculators may be accessed as an online tool or downloaded to your desktop. Results can be printed off and added to the animal's hospitalisation records. There are three options available for small animals (see below), to provide a quick and easy reference tool.
Options The M1/M2/M3 Plan calculates simple multiplications of the maintenance rate; the Comprehensive Plan calculates fluid required to provide maintenance requirements, correct dehydration or replace ongoing losses; the Simple Rate Calculator calculates resuscitation fluid rates
