Abstract
This book aims to provide both student veterinary nurses and qualified nurses an easily understandable reference source. It covers all the aspects of the two-year veterinary nurse-training course ranging from handling and restraint to laboratory work. The book is laid out in a logical manner including diagrams, photographs and tabular information where appropriate. This ensures the text is easily understood and can generally be pictorially cross-referenced.
There are 26 chapters within this book, each one covering in detail all the aspects a veterinary nurse needs to be knowledgeable in. Chapters 1 to 12 cover all the required topics of the first year veterinary nurse syllabus. This ensures they can obtain a comprehensive base knowledge on which they can expand with experience, both practically and with further reading. Any further reading they do will enhance the general knowledge they obtain from this book. Chapters 13 to 26 cover the topics of the required knowledge for the second year veterinary nurse syllabus. Again the book provides a comprehensive background encouraging further reading and study around the topics.
