Abstract
Aside from de-Stalinisation, there's another essential process which hasn't even begun: de-Andropovisation, or getting rid of the current version of Stalinism — which says that if you don't respect the authorities, you've got only yourself to blame.
The following speech, slightly edited here, was made at a conference in Denmark in March (see introduction). In a few places, for the sake of clarity, the translation has been made from the longer, written text of the speech rather than from the recorded version. The explanations in square brackets were added by the translator, Sally Laird.
