Glucan Assay
The Endosafe®-PTS™ glucan assay verifies the absence of (1,3)-beta-d-glucans. These glucan molecules can be found in the cell walls of most yeasts and molds, and can contaminate cell culture fluid, yeast protein production, air quality samples, and cellulose filter preparations. Glucans can also cause false-positive results in LAL assays, triggering OOS investigations. These glucan cartridges have a sensitivity range of 10–1,000 pg/mL, yield results in <30 min, and can be run on the same PTS reader that is used for endotoxin detection and Gram identification.

Customized Peptide Microarrays
Based on laser printing, high-density peptide arrays are customized to user specifications. Microarrays are provided on conventional object slides (containing 5,440 individual peptides) and other glass slide formats of up to 20 × 20 cm2 with 156,000 peptide spots. The peptide microarrays are designed by the PepSlide® platform, producing CSV sequence worksheets and GAL files for GenePix®-based image analysis. Assays can be performed, for example by fluorescent-labeled proteins or sandwich immunoassays. These peptide microarrays can be applied for antibody profiling, epitope mapping, screening of enzyme substrates or protein target binders, identification of new biomarkers, and drug and vaccine development.

Assay Plate Production System
The Coda™ high-throughput automated assay plate production system enables production of up to 300 384-well plates in 4.5 h (at 5 nL sample volume). This system typically includes a conventional liquid handler for dispensing buffer or diluent, a centrifuge, and a robotic feeding arm. Coda can also have labeling and plate-sealing modules integrated, as well as use plate hotels to ensure full compound tracking and secure plate storage. When coupled with relevant modules of the Concerto Sample Management Software, Coda can generate a comprehensive range of output plate formats.

Histone Demethylase Assay Kit
The DetectX™ universal histone demethylase fluorescent detection kit measures the activity of both LSD1- and Jumonji-type HDMs and allows calibration of activity across labs with its supplied stable formaldehyde standard. Screening of inhibitor activity to any HDM takes place in the supplied plates followed by addition of the 4°C stable formaldehyde-detection reagent. After a short incubation, the amount of formaldehyde produced is measured directly in a plate reader with excitation at 450 nm and emission at 510 nm. This method can be adapted to high-density formats and does not generate complex or interfering enzymatic signal.

Weighted Microplate Lids
These universal weighted lids are for standard height SBS/ANSI-formatted microplates. The robotics-friendly black lids are light tight to protect sensitive assays. Designed for in-process assays and short- to medium-term storage for chemical libraries, the weighted lids offer gaskets as an alternative to heat seals. Gaskets are strategically placed at the edge of the wells to reduce evaporation and offer air/liquid-tight well-to-well seals.

Bovine Collagen
Nutragen® is ultra-purified bovine collagen for research purposes. The product is supplied at a concentration of 6 mg/mL and is ideal for producing extra-solid gel cell culture systems for cell invasion assays and other applications where an extra-firm gel is required. Nutragen® is sterile, filtered, and is supplied as a ready-to-use solution. It is ∼97% Type I bovine collagen, and the remainder is Type III collagen. It contains a high monomer content as measured by gel permeation chromatography, and the concentration for each specific lot is provided on a certificate of analysis that is available with the purchase of each product. Nutragen® is soluble atelo-collagen in 0.01 N HCI, and the pH is ∼2.0.

Autotaxin Kits
Autotaxin has been implicated in a variety of disease states, including cancer, and is closely connected with metastasis. Echelon’s Autotaxin Activity Assay Kit allows for quantitative measurement of autotaxin activity in biological samples, while the Autotaxin Inhibitor Screening Kit is specially engineered to identify compounds that interfere with autotaxin activity.
