Preventing Pressure Ulcers in the Morbidly Obese: In Search of an Evidence Base

Abstract

Pressure ulcer prevention is a critical aspect of the nursing care of hospitalized morbidly obese patients. There is little nursing research to provide an evidence base for practice in this area. This paper highlights reported studies related to pressure ulcer prevention and identifies areas where further studies are needed.
