Abstract

I want to wish all our readers a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year. The Editorial Board for Bariatric Surgical Practice and Patient Care would also like to thank Drs. Farah Husain and Judy Chen who will be retiring from their roles as they continue their busy practices. I want to also welcome Dr. Reid Sakamoto who will be joining our journal as an associate editor. We are committed to shortening the turnaround time once an article is submitted. The processes we have in place include increasing the number of assigned reviewers per submission, selecting reviewers who have previously submitted articles, and following up on a regular basis to get our reviews in. I am asking for your humble support if you are chosen as a reviewer to complete your task within a timely manner. This being said, I would like to encourage everyone reading this to send your articles to Bariatric Practice and Patient.
In this issue, our lead article looks “A new PROM in patients with obesity and after metabolic surgery: the OBESI-Q” by Dr. Nienhuijs from the Netherlands. This is followed by an article from Sweden entitled “Hyperammonemia and Ornithine Transcarbamylase Deficiency After Bariatric Surgery: A Retrospective Study.” I hope our readers will find the listing in this month’s issue informative, inspiring, and practical.
In closing, we look to improve Bariatric Surgical Practice and Patient Care everywhere possible. The journal is always open to innovative ways of improving the reader’s experience. Please feel free to contact me if you have any suggestions that could improve our journal.
Sincerely,
