In the March 2016 issue of Breastfeeding Medicine (vol. 11, no. 2, pp.70–74, DOI: 10.1089.bfm.2015.0134), in the article entitled “Beyond Necrotizing Enterocolitis Prevention: Improving Outcomes with an Exclusive Human Milk-Based Diet” by Amy B. Hair, Allison M. Peluso, Keli M. Hawthorne, Jose Perez, Denise P. Smith, Janine Y. Khan, Andrea O'Donnell, Richard J. Powers, Martin L. Lee, and Steven A. Abrams, an error was discovered in the third row of Table 2 on page 72.

The authors explain that the numbers in the third row of the table, “NEC and/or mortality (%),” are based on a subgroup analysis that included only 364 babies in total who had NEC and/or died. Of those, 59.1% were in the BOV arm and 40.9% were in the HUM arm. What the authors intended to say was that of all HUM-fed babies, 18.2% got NEC or died and in the BOV group, the number is 28.0%. Thus 59.1% under BOV has been changed to 28.0% and 40.9% under HUM has been changed to 18.2%. The p-value is correct in the article.

The online version of the article has been corrected to reflect these changes.
