In the January 2019 issue of Breastfeeding Medicine (vol. 14, no. 1, pp.14–16. DOI: 10.1089/bfm.2018.0228), in the article entitled How Sweet It Is: Sweeteners in Breast Milk by Philip O. Anderson, an inadvertent omission occurred on page 15 in the second paragraph under the heading of Sucralose. The second sentence should have the citation: Rother KI, Sylvetsky AC, Walter PJ, et al. Pharmacokinetics of sucralose and acesulfame potassium in breast milk following ingestion of diet soda. J Pediatr Gastroenterol Nutr 2018;66:466–470.

The following (third) sentence of this paragraph should read, “It was detectable in the milk of 21% of women at baseline and in the milk of all women after the cola.”

In the same paragraph, in the sentence, “Sucralose first appeared in breast milk 2 hours after ingestion and the median peak concentration milk was 0.081 mg/L at 6 hours after soda ingestion when sampling was discontinued,” the concentration should read 0.08 mg/L.

On page 15, under the heading of Fructose, the third paragraph should have the following reference: Goran MI, Martin AA, Alderete TL, et al. Fructose in breast milk is positively associated with infant body composition at 6 months of age. Nutrients 2017;9:146.
