Bowenoid Papulosis: Treatment with Carbon Dioxide Laser Vaporization

Two cases of extensive bowenoid papulosis, a unique human papilloma virus infection of genitalia which initially were diagnosed as Bowen disease are reported. Both were treated with CO₂ laser vaporization (15 W, continuous wave, power density 1909 watts/cm2) with 1 cm peripheral zone vaporization (15 W, continuous wave, power density 477 W/cm²). The laser wounds healed nicely with no visible scarring. There was no evidence of recurrence after 12 and 18 months follow up, respectively.
