Abstract
He is a co-editor of the Journal of Case Reports and Images in Urology, has been an editorial board member of the Indian Journal of Urology, and is a reviewer for multiple national and international journals. He has close to 100 publications indexed in national and international journals, in addition to chapters in textbooks, and is the author/editor of several reference books. He has presented more than 200 papers in national and international conferences and has received multiple best paper awards. He has delivered more than 400 guest lectures, including multiple prestigious orations, in national and international conferences.
He is the recipient of the Dr. PV Chalapathi Rao Memorial Oration 2006, the Dr. PN Kataria Memorial Oration 2010, the Marudhara Jodhpur Urology Oration 2013, the Ranganadha Rao Oration of Society of Genito-Urinary Surgeons 2016, the President's Gold Medal 2016, the Urology Gold Medal 2021 and the Himadri Sarkar Oration 2021 of the Urological Society of India. He received the Sri Lanka Association of Urological Surgeons (SLAUS) Gold Medal 2018, delivered the UAA Lecture at the European Association of Urology Meeting 2017, the SLAUS Lecture 2018, the USI Lecture in the Bangladesh Association of Urological Surgeons Conference 2019, the USI Lecture in the Nepal Association of Urological Surgeons Meeting 2019, the Urological Association of Asia Lecture in the Hong Kong Urology Association Meeting 2019, and the Societe Internationale d'Urologie Lecture in Istanbul, Turkey in 2023.
He is considered one of the pioneers in endourology in India since the 1980s, popularizing tubeless percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), ultrasound-guided puncture, mini-PCNL, high-power laser, and recently, the use of suction in upper tract endourology. He has organized many conferences and national and international live operative workshops. He runs training programs in endourology for national and international trainees at his center on a regular basis.
