Office Biopsy as Treatment for Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia (CIN)

ABSTRACT

The fact that directed biopsy alone can cure small lesions of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia has been well recognized. In this series, 389 patients were treated with biopsy alone and had satisfactory and negative follow-up. There were also 19 treatment failures and 180 with poor or no follow-up. Patients that are treatment failures with one method can usually be cured with repeat treatment, or a different method, provided they are faithful in reporting for their follow-up visits.
