I am pleased to announce that Journal of Women's Health has been selected as the official journal of a new professional society, the Academy of Women's Health. The Academy of Women's Health is an interdisciplinary, international association of physicians, nurses, and other health professionals who work across the broad field of women's health, providing its members with up-to-date advances and options in clinical care that will enable the best outcomes for their women patients. The Academy's focus includes the dissemination of translational research and evidence-based practices for disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment for women across the lifespan. Additional information about the Academy may be found at www.academyofwomenshealth.org
I also want to share with you that Dr. Wendy Klein is stepping down from her role as Deputy Editor of Journal of Women's Health. I am extremely grateful to her many years of service and outstanding contributions to the journal. She has been an extraordinary partner and has done a phenomenal job. Dr. Robert Downs, Professor of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), has graciously agreed to assume the role of Deputy Editor. He is an endocrinologist with particular expertise in osteoporosis and is a distinguished clinician, teacher, and scholar. I welcome Dr. Downs and greatly look forward to working with him.
