Abstract

In the article entitled, “Neck Collar with Mild Jugular Vein Compression Ameliorates Brain Activation Changes During a Working Memory Task after a Season of High School Football” by Yuan, et al., (J Neurotrauma 2017;34 [15–16]:2432–2444; doi: 10.1089/neu.2016.4834) an error was identified in reporting of fMRI N-back task performance data in Table 3. Specifically, the reported mean ± SD data of 95.56 ± 2.12% was incorrect. These data should have been reported as 95.60 ± 2.20%. The statistical results should also be revised to accommodate this corrective action (t = 0.07, df = 50, p = 0.94).
The corrected table is as follows:
fMRI N-Back Task Performance
In addition, a typographic error was identified in the method section (page 2434). Specifically, we stated the following: “The button responses of the 2-Back tasks and 0-Back tasks were recorded in 15/27 athletes in the non-collar group and 12/25 athletes in the collar group during both pre- and post-season fMRI scans.” However, in this statement, the data available in the collar group should be corrected to: “… … and 18/25 athletes in the collar group…”. The corrections to the table and main text do not alter any of the primary findings or the conclusions of the original manuscript.
The authors apologize for this error and are grateful for the opportunity to correct the literature.
