ABSTRACT
Three patients with right congenital diaphragmatic eventration operated on by thoracoscopy are reported. The diagnosis was established in all the patients by chest x-ray and fluoroscopy, which showed an abnormally elevated diaphragm with paradoxical movement. In all patients, diaphragmatic plication was performed through a thoracoscopic approach to return the diaphragm to its normal location and to restore normal pulmonary parenchymal expansion. All patients were discharged in good condition following uneventful postoperative courses. No relapse of eventration or reappearance of the symptoms has been found during a follow-up period of 6–12 months.
