Abstract
The senior author of the article entitled, “Embedded Silica Nanoparticles in Poly(Caprolactone) Nanofibrous Scaffolds Enhanced Osteogenic Potential for Bone Tissue Engineering,” published in the August 2012 issue of Tissue Engineering (vol. 18, nos. 17/18, pages 1867–1881), contacted the editorial leadership of the Tissue Engineering journal program to identify an unintentional error in Figure 11.
Upon receipt of the author's correspondence and corrected files, the editorial leadership studied the error in the context of the article and determined that there were indeed discrepancies that ultimately affect the paper's conclusions.
Based on the editors' assessment, they have decided to officially retract the paper from the literature. The editors of Tissue Engineering appreciate the senior author's effort to bring this concern to their attention.
