Abstract

I
In Figure 1, the authors illustrate the heterogeneity of IDD prevention and monitoring programs in Europe. After the review was published, the authors were made aware of incorrect details for two countries. First, Sweden was indicated as country without IDD prevention program, which has to be revised. Rather, a voluntary program has been established (1). Second, also the Netherlands was indicated to have no IDD prevention program, but the country has a longstanding history of bread salt iodization (2).

Heterogeneity in iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) prevention programs (PP) and monitoring in Europe.
The authors would like to apologize for these mistakes and highly appreciate Helena Filipsson Nyström (Institute of Medicine, Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg and Department of Endocrinology, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Göteborg, Sweden) and Janneke Verkaik-Kloosterman (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, Bilthoven, the Netherlands) for their careful reading.
