Abstract
Various endoscopic and robotic approaches to the thyroid have been developed over the past decade, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. The facelift or retroauricular robotic approach has recently been introduced and has several advantages over the transaxillary approach, including shorter length of dissection, more familiar anatomic approach over the sternocleidomastoid muscle, less likelihood of serious complications including brachial plexus injury, and greater ease to perform on larger patients. However, bilateral lobectomy remains a challenge. This video highlights the facelift robotic approach to thyroid lobectomy.
