Beginning with this issue, the NIRSA Historical Committee will be bringing you articles periodically that we feel have historical significance for the members of this organization. While this initial article covers the significance of the study of history, most will deal with an aspect of our association's/profession's growth or a current issue and the impact that history may have upon it. We hope that you will both enjoy and learn from these articles.
