El objetivo principal del presente estudio es analizar las diferencias en las relaciones familiares (apoyo parental, comunicación familiar y violencia parental) entre adolescentes rechazados por su grupo de iguales que se implican en conductas violentas en la escuela (rechazados agresivos), adolescentes rechazados que no participan en comportamientos violentos en la escuela (rechazados no-agresivos) y adolescentes no-rechazados y no-agresivos (grupo control). Los participantes del estudio fueron 843 adolescentes de entre 11 y 16 años (edad media: 13,7), de los cuales el 47% son chicos y el 53% chicas, escolarizados en cuatro centros de la Comunidad Valenciana. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron los siguientes: el Inventario de Apoyo Relacional —RSI—, el Cuestionario de Evaluación de la Comunicación Familiar —PACS—, una Escala de Violencia Parental, una Escala de Violencia Escolar y el Cuestionario Sociométrico. Los resultados mostraron que los rechazados agresivos informaron de un menor apoyo parental, una mayor utilización de la violencia física y verbal entre sus padres, así como una comunicación más ofensiva y de evitación, en comparación con los rechazados no-agresivos y el grupo control. Además, los rechazados no-agresivos percibieron menor apoyo de sus padres, en comparación con el grupo control. Los resultados destacan el papel que desempeñan las relaciones familiares en la interacción social del adolescente con su grupo de iguales.
