Strontium isotope analysis of archaeological cereal grains can distinguish crops sourced from outside a local area if it can be shown that leaching moves grain ⁸⁷Sr/⁸⁶Sr values significantly away from the expected Sr signature.

The δ18Os versus δ13Cs correlation direction varies along the coast–upper estuary geographical gradient, suggesting it to be a potential new proxy to distinguish between marine and estuarine mussel specimens.

Close agreement between other temperature-related proxy records suggest that the reconstruction is highly reliable and captures the regional cold/warm periods of Central Asia.

The abundance of pollen fluctuated with the depth of the core, indicating their seasonal deposition on the ice cap. Seasonality of the stable isotopes was not particularly clear because of melting and refreezing signatures.

A specific concern with vision – shamanic, predatory, and post-mortem – is inferred from an unusual Ipiutak burial assemblage that contained a loon skull with ivory eyes.

Our results document variable frequencies of overshot and overface flaking during fluted-point manufacture – features linked elsewhere to Clovis biface reduction.
