Abstract
In developing a vocational assessment battery, attention was given to the special needs of the retarded: reading level, attention and interest span, following directions, time limitations and the need for format variety. Measures of intelligence, achievement, personality, aptitudes, and special abilities were included. Procedural steps are detailed for evaluating a group during a school day using cassette tapes, earphones and three trained evaluators. An immediate interpretation of the 16 Personality Factor Test is made through use of a programmable calculator. The final report, which includes an interview, places emphasis upon specific educational, vocational and behavioral recommendations useful to teachers and counselors.
