Some Exact Sample Sizes for Comparing the Squared Multiple Correlation Coefficient to a Standard

When analyzing p, the squared multiple correlation coefficient, an investigator may be more interested in determining whether p is above or below a known constant rather than testing the hypothesis that p = 0. This paper gives the exact sample sizes required for answering this question when an indifference zone formulation of the problem is used. The results reported here also give a lower bound to the probability of making a correct decision when n observations are available.
