The paper contains a description of the Science Research Council and Department of Industry funded Teaching Company Scheme which operates through Teaching Company programmes where an educational establishment participates in an industrial programme, to achieve a substantial and comprehensive change in manufacturing, which benefits the company, the academics and Teaching Company Associates.
