As part of a program of research on interhemispheric communication in the brain of the opossum, the ability of opossums to learn an olfactory discrimination was explored. Four adult Virginia opossums, one male and three females, were given trials in a T-maze with oil of wintergreen the relevant cue. Ss showed improvement over blocks of trials only when the blocks were massed.
