Abstract
Computer models for various textile processes have been developed for use on personal computers. These models use regression techniques and enthalpy balances to predict energy consumption from user supplied process parameters. The models have been verified through extensive use in plant energy studies and have successfully identified energy saving measures and produced accurate energy cost per unit pro duction information and departmental energy projections. A summary of the modeling and verification techniques is presented here.
