Abstract

April 2019
Too rarely do we have a chance to offer a public thank you to the colleagues who work hard and largely behind the scenes to sustain a journal like Political Theory. With this issue, I would like to express my gratitude to three departing members of the Executive Editorial Committee (EEC). Roxanne Euben, Achille Mbembe, and Anne Norton have served brilliantly during the terms of several Political Theory editors. Their deep understanding of the journal and the field, their vision for Political Theory’s future, and their support have been vital.
I am also delighted to welcome three new members, who will join Paul Apostolidis, Rainer Forst, Nivedita Menon, and Neil Roberts on the EEC. Glen Coulthard is associate professor of First Nations and Indigenous studies and political science at the University of British Columbia. Author of the award-winning Red Skin, White Masks: Rejecting the Colonial Politics of Recognition and a leader in the study of Indigenous thought and politics, he has published widely on contemporary political theory. Pratap Bhanu Mehta is vice-chancellor of Ashoka University. He is the author of The Burden of Democracy and an astonishing number of books and articles that span political theory, constitutional law, and governance and society in India. Elizabeth Wingrove is professor of political science and women’s studies at the University of Michigan. The author of Rousseau’s Republican Romance and essays on the history of political thought, feminist theory, and contemporary social thought, her work is groundbreaking in its attention to the relationship between literary and political practices.
