Abstract

As I compose these notes in mid-February, I wonder what the world will be like in July when this issue of Missiology is sent to our readers. I know many are praying we will be emerging from the global pandemic that has disrupted life around the globe. At the same time, God is at work and we are invited to join in His global labors.
This issue of our journal offers six new articles addressing matters relevant to our Heavenly Father’s work. John S Shorak offers “A three-party kerygmatic model of mission.” Andrew Buchanan addresses “Biblical theology for oral-preference communities.” Alan Byron Howell and Robert Andrew Montgomery bring us “Violence, fear, and the Paz do Senhor in Mozambique.” Andrea Campanale responds to the question “Healing from shame: Possible and desirable?” Alan Totire writes on “Immigrant believers from Muslim backgrounds and factors that facilitate a positive Christian identity.” Finally, Dwi Maria Handayani explores a question upon which many of us, I suspect, have never reflected: “Does God care about fashion?”
The journal’s editorial team prays that you will find this publication both intellectually stimulating and practically beneficial.
