System identification of the blood pressu re control system by low frequency neural stimulation

This paper describes the identification of the control structure of that section of the blood pressure control system which relates cardiac depressor activity to heart rate, arterial blood pressure and respiration. Using pulse frequency modulated PRBS techniques, the parameters of the closed loop frequency and impulse responses of the baroreceptor (pressure transducer) control loop were estimated, thereby gaining a more detailed understanding of the dynamics of the baroreceptor system.
