Abstract
This paper presents the practicality of using a twin-wire resistance-probe water manometer for measuring pressure differences of liquids. Experiments were performed using the probe to measure the pressure difference across an orifice-plate water flowmeter and to measure the dynamic pressure in an open-channel flume. It was found that the output voltage from the manometer was linearly proportional to the difference in pressure. The limitations of measurement were also analysed.
