Abstract

Libertus, K., & Needham, A. (2014). Face preference in infancy and its relation to motor activity. International Journal of Behavioral Development, 38(6), 529–538. doi: 10.1177/0165025414535122
The above mentioned article published in the November 2014 issue of the International Journal of Behavioral Development contained a typographical error in the Results section on page 532. This error resulted in an incorrect reporting of one statistical comparison. Specifically, the original article reports:
Within-group analyses indicate no face preference in three-month-olds (M = 4.20, SD = 45.30; t(19) = 4.12, p = .68, 95% CI [17.00, 25.40], Cohen’s d = .19).
The t-value reported in this statistical comparison is incorrect and should be 0.42 instead. Thus, the corrected sentence should read:
Within-group analyses indicate no face preference in three-month-olds (M = 4.20, SD = 45.30; t(19) = 0.42, p = .68, 95% CI [17.00, 25.40], Cohen’s d = .19).
Other values in this sentence or the subsequent interpretation of this result are not affected by the typographical error.
The authors apologize for this error and any confusion it may have caused.
