Abstract

Vang, Z. M., and Y. Chang. 2018. “Immigrants’ Experiences of Everyday Discrimination in Canada: Unpacking the Contributions of Assimilation, Race, and Early Socialization.” International Migration Review. Published ahead of print, May 29, 2018. (Original DOI: 10.1177/0197918318764871)
In the above referenced article, on page 5, in the fourth sentence of the first paragraph, the text listed “1.25” as the generation for preschool-age children; it should have appeared as “1.75.” The sentence should read as follows: “Immigrants who arrived as preschool-age (1.75 generation) children are expected to be like the second generation in outlook and cultural exposure since they are educated entirely in the receiving country.”
On page 5, in the sixth sentence of the first paragraph, the text listed “1.75” as the generation for adolescents; it should have appeared as “1.25.” The sentence should read as follows: “Finally, migrants who uprooted as adolescents (1.25 generation) may attend secondary school in the receiving country, but their formative years were shaped by the educational institutions and cultural milieu of the sending country.”
On page 22, in Table 7, the odds ratio value for the variable “12 and over” under “Age at arrival” was missing two asterisks indicating statistical significance at p < .05. The value should have appeared as “0.65**.”
The OnlineFirst version of the above referenced article has been updated to reflect the changes described above.
