Abstract
The perception of employees about the various characteristics of their organization is known as Organizational Climate (OC). It may be related to their leaders, peers, job etc. It is considered to be important because of its purported relationship with other organizational phenomena. The present study attempts to analyze the perceptions of OC by employees of an organization, and to identify the variations in their perception among different groups. Also, to find out the link between perception of climate and job performance, by conceptualizing climate as an independent variable. The sample was chosen from a well-established organization in Tamil Nadu. A specially designed questionnaire was adopted to analyze the employees' perception of the climate. The findings of the study suggest that the climate of the organization is moderate. Also, all the dimensions of OC did not receive the same amount of attention. It also reveals that there exists a positive, significant relationship between OC and job performance.
