The authors of the aforementioned article, published in Online First on November 27, 2012, wish to issue this statement of correction.
This article is conceptually the first of two that stemmed from a single grant project funded by the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL®) Research Program at Educational Testing Service (ETS). This first paper is based on quantitative data from the project, while a second paper, “The influence of second language experience and accent familiarity on oral proficiency rating: A qualitative investigation,” by Winke and Gass (TESOL Quarterly; 2013; https://doi.org/10.1002/tesq.73), is based on qualitative data from the project. Because of the timing of the publication of both articles, a reference to the TESOL Quarterly article was not included in this paper.
