A numerical method for designing spherical joints in space structures is proposed in this paper. A number of important parameters identifiable in the design of a spherical joint have been idealized and formally incorporated to develop a numerical design method for spherical joints in space structures. Numerical examples based on this method are also presented and briefly discussed. These examples reflect on some local parameters in the design of spherical space joints, especially as they affect the choice of the geometrical shapes and dimensions of the joint.
