Abstract

Acta Radiologica, a prestigious radiological journal established in 1921 and owned by the Nordic Radiological Societies, is currently seeking a qualified individual to assume the role of Editor-in-Chief. Our esteemed present Editor-in-Chief, Professor Henrik Thomsen, will retire on 31 December 2024, having served in this position with distinction.
The Acta Radiologica Board is actively engaged in the identification of Professor Thomsen's successor for a five-year term, with the possibility of extension, commencing on 1 January 2025.
International reputation in medical imaging and scientific leadership Experience in clinical radiology and multidisciplinary research Extensive experience in planning, writing, and presenting scientific manuscripts Editorial experience High proficiency in English (both verbal and written) Well-organized with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Recognized for diplomacy and networking skills Overseeing all aspects of the journal's peer-review process to ensure efficiency and transparency, including the implementation of measures for fast turnaround times Introducing a pre-review mechanism and dedicated fast-track review processes, such as for late-breaking clinical trials in radiology Developing and implementing a social media strategy to enhance community outreach Collaborating with the editorial office, Acta Radiologica Board, and Sage to maintain and enhance editorial and publishing standards Further enhance the scientific quality and impact of Acta Radiologica Foster a supportive and inclusive culture among the editorial board and office, based on values of diversity, equity, and inclusion Develop and implement a strategy aligned with the vision for Acta Radiologica Cover letter summarizing their vision, perspectives, and goals for the journal Curriculum vitae (detailed), including all publications and achievements Vision statement with perspectives and strategy for the further development of Acta Radiologica Strategy on building a supportive and inclusive culture based on the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion for the editorial board and the team of editors Nordic citizenship

An Evaluation Committee, comprising members of the board, has been constituted to oversee the selection process. The deadline for submitting applications is 21 April 2024, and a final decision will be reached at the annual Board Meeting scheduled for 8 May 2024 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The successful candidate is expected to dedicate a significant portion of their working hours to the journals. Remuneration for the position will be determined through negotiation.
