Effect of crystallisation state on deformation behaviour of different-size inclusions during hot rolling process

The crystalline state has a significant effect on the deformation behaviour of inclusions during their hot deformation process. In order to investigate the effect of the crystallisation state on the deformation behaviour of inclusions of different sizes in the hot rolling process, billet hot rolling simulation models of different sizes of homogeneous crystalline phase and non-crystalline phase spherical inclusions were established by Abaqus. The simulation results show that the plastic deformation capacity of non-crystalline inclusions is better than that of crystalline inclusions. The non-crystalline inclusions of each size are long strips after hot rolling. When the size is 6 to 20μm, the deformation capacity of non-crystalline inclusions is positively correlated with their size, but when the size of non-crystalline inclusions is less than 6μm, the effect of inclusions size on their deformation capacity is non-significant. The crystalline inclusions during the hot rolling process are always nearly spherical, their plastic deformation capacity is unaffected by the size of the inclusions. With the increase in the diameter of inclusions, it is more likely to cause damage to the steel matrix to form defects.
