Abstract
After five years of truly exceptional service to PiHG’s authors and readers, Professor Sarah Elwood is stepping down as an editor. Sarah has handled nearly 200 papers in her time as an editor, not to mention dozens of Progress Reports. She has also been responsible for the journal’s Twitter account, and made various other valued contributions to Progress. She will be sorely missed by her fellow editors who wish her continued success in her outstanding career.
Sarah has been replaced by Dr. David Manley, who is in the School of Geographical Sciences at Bristol University. David is a quantitative human geographer whose research focuses on the socio-economic dimensions of different neighbourhoods. Quantitative human geography has not been as well represented in the pages of PiHG in recent years as the editors would like. David will, it is hoped, help to get more papers on spatial statistics, modelling, and analysis into the journal, as well as editing papers and reports on other areas of human geography. David will serve for four years, effective January 2018.
