Abstract
This paper describes an attempt to address the deep unconscious concerns of a group of university students on an intensive residential one-year Diploma/MA Course in Counselling. The work gives some support to the idea that there are unconscious preoccupations in all such training groups that can inhibit the effectiveness of the course.
