The concept of migration and clandestinity in the Chinese culture

In Chinese culture and history, the notion of migration is related to state authority. Voluntary mobility was and is looked down on and discouraged. Separation from, and enlarging of, the motherland are linked. Today Chinese internal migration flows in two channels: legal and illegal. Ethnic features and family ties are also relevant to the Chinese notion of migration.

Dans l'histoire et la culture chinoise la notion de migration est en relation avec l'autorité de l'état. La libre mobilité est par conséquent méprisée et découragée. La séparation du pays et l'expansion de la patrie sont liées. A l'heure actuelle, la migration chinoise intérieure emprunte un double canal, légal et illégal. L'appartenance à une ethnie et les relations familiales et de clan sont aussi à prendre en compte dans la notion chinoise de migration.
