Abstract

A French–German journal in the human and social sciences edited by the FMSH
Trivium publishes French translations of influential articles from German journals as well as German translations of similar articles from French journals. It is an open-access bilingual (German–French) journal published three times a year. Its main objectives are developing scientific exchanges through a new infrastructure for translations and promoting the use of French and German as scientific languages. Trivium, however, does not intend to limit itself to a French or German readership and is addressing an international audience. Thematic volumes aim to encourage innovative research and give impetus to scientific cooperation. Two sociological volumes have just appeared: Max Weber and the bureaucracy, and Sociology of conventions. The next issue of Trivium will focus on Emile Durkheim.
