Preparation and Dielectric Characterization of Nanosized Fe 2 O 3 Doped Methylsilicone Resin/Glass Fiber Compositions

Abstract

Nanosized Fe₂O₃ doped methylsilicone resin/glass fiber composites have been successfully synthesized and the resulting composites were characterized by Fourier-transformed infrared (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and spatially resolved energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The result of dielectric measurement shows that the doping of Fe₂O₃ nanoparticles is beneficial to the improvement of the dielectric properties of the methylsilicone resin/ glass fiber compositions. The elementary analysis of the composites at different temperatures was conducted, indicating that nanosized Fe₂O₃ is an excellent high-temperature decarbonizer for methylsilicone resin.
