Abstract

I am very pleased to present this symposium on public human resource management in China. I am particularly grateful to Kuotsai Tom Liou (University of Central Florida) for the 4 years of work this symposium represents. This symposium is an excellent example of Tom’s dedication to bringing an international focus to public administration academics and practitioners in the United States. His strong academic leadership and his role as president of the American Society for Public Administration are appreciated by his colleagues in the United States and abroad. His work has broadened our horizons, and we are grateful.
As I begin my 6th year as editor-in-chief of the Review of Public Personnel Administration (ROPPA), this symposium represents the editorial and advisory boards’ commitment to sharing scholarly knowledge concerning public human resource management practice from around the globe. This dedication is evident in the composition of our editorial board as well as the content of the journal. I am grateful for all of your efforts and support of this endeavor.
ROPPA is currently ranked as the top public human resource management specialty journal included in the Thomson Reuters 2010 Journal Citation Report®. I believe this ranking is indicative of the quality of articles published in ROPPA. I am very appreciative of the collective efforts of our contributing authors, readership, editorial and advisory boards, and public human resource management scholars who cite ROPPA in their research.
Please remember to cite ROPPA in your work and to remember ROPPA when looking for an outlet to publish your research. Forthcoming articles published ahead of print can be accessed through the OnlineFirst portal at http://rop.sagepub.com/content/early/recent. Again, thank you for your support of ROPPA.
