SAGE has announced a global reviewer rewards programme that provides those who review papers for its Journals with free electronic access to the entire list of SAGE journals. The programme, trialed in 2010 on a small number of titles, has now been rolled out to all 630+ journals currently published by SAGE. Reviewers will be offered free 30-day access to all titles on the SAGE Journals Online platform, as well as a 25 percent discount on all SAGE books. “The peer review process is the lynchpin of the scholarly publishing process, and relies heavily on the services of reviewers and expert evaluators of submitted material,” said Tessa Picknett, Associate Director, STM Journals, SAGE. “We rely on their expertise and judgment in refereeing submitted papers, providing feedback and helpful suggestions that ensure our journals publish the highest quality content. We’re very pleased that we can offer this programme along with our sincere thanks for their contributions.” Reviewers will be able to register for free access after submitting their referee’s report. They will be offered 30 days’ free access to all SAGE journals via a hyperlink from the journal online peer review system. Reviewers will also be sent a promotional code that will enable them to order SAGE book titles at a 25 percent discount. BMS & Sage Publications
Those who have received email announcements via the BMS-RC33 distribution list have often seen the logo “[bms-rc33] Call -...” Now that the BMS has joined Sage Publications and is now publishing six research articles or notes per issue, the lag time between final acceptance and publication jumps from one month to three months, and we must establish a consequential backlog, particularly of research articles in English. You are therefore strongly encouraged to submit your interesting methodological articles to the BMS and to encourage your colleagues or student to do the same.
Our BMS “Information for authors” can be found on the BMS Web site at Sage (http://bms.sagepub.com). Please keep us in mind even when participating in the different sociological research conferences often announced here in the BMS or via our distribution lists.
