Abstract

There are many people who are involved in the production of Affilia. There are the most obvious contributors the authors and reviewers, the readers, the SAGE production staff. The most pivotal people are those people who come in direct contact with the authors. Wendy Almeleh has been one of those people. Wendy has been involved with Affilia since its inception and has worked with authors to fine tune their feminist voices through the editing process. She has been a fundamental building block to Affilia and will always be present as a pivotal part of our “herstory.” In the words of long time board member and Professor and Dean Emeritus, Ruth Brandwien, “Through all these years, Wendy honed and polished all of our manuscripts so that Affilia became the fine, professional looking and well-respected journal that it is today. I got to know Wendy personally, who was invaluable to me when I was Book Editor. Always efficient, pleasant but exhibiting the highest standards, I will personally miss her contribution to Affilia and Affilia will miss her expertise and hard work.” We would like to acknowledge our gratitude, and the impact that Wendy has had on feminist social work thought through her work in Affilia as she completes her many years of work with the journal. We are forever changed because of her contribution.
