Debunking the Myth of Progress for Women Social Work Educators

Abstract

This article presents a study of trends in the employment of women social work educators from 1972 to 1993. The findings revealed that academic women continue to be clustered in nontenure and nontenure-track positions, despite the growing number of women with doctorates in social work. Strategies for achieving equity are also presented.
