Concerns were raised on PubPeer about the following figures in the article which have duplicate features to those published in another article by the same authors (1). A) Figures 2a and 2b in this publication appears to be similar to Figures 2a and 2b published in (1) B) Figures 3a and 3b in this publication appears to contain duplicate features from figures 3a and 3b published in (1). The figures in this publication appear to be magnified versions of those published in (1). C) Figure 5c in this publication appears to contains duplicate features and appears to be a magnified version of figure 6c published in (1). D) Figure 5d in this publication appears to contains duplicate features from figure 6b published in (1) and appears to be a magnified version. E) Figure 5e in this publication appears to contains duplicate features from figure 6e published in (1) and appears to be a magnified version. F) Figure 5f in this publication appears to contains duplicate features from figure 6f published in (1) and appears to be a magnified version.
The authors have explained this was an error due to similarities in sample names. The authors provided original images as replacement figures; however, the journal is unable to verify the integrity of these images as original files were not provided.
Due to the uncertainty around integrity of the original images and other images provided by authors, the nature of the original concerns that call into question the validity of the findings, the Editor of Journal of Thermoplastic Composite Materials retracts the article.
Authors did not agree with the retraction and did not comment on the final notice. References:
