Analysis of tire wear characteristics of wide track monorail vehicles based on Archard model

In order to solve the problem of excessive tire wear during the running of straddle monorail vehicle, an innovative wide-base spine type bogie was proposed. In order to verify the effect of wide wheel base bogies on reducing the wear of running tires, the mutual restriction between horizontal wheels was considered when the finite element model of the running wheels of straddle monorail vehicles with wide wheel base was established. The modified attenuation exponential friction model is used to simulate wheel-rail contact characteristics, and the polynomial is used to simulate the constitutive relationship of running tires. Based on Archard model, a quantitative wear depth model of running tires was established to analyze the wear characteristics of running tires of wide wheel base bogies under typical working conditions. The results show that the tread wear of the wide wheel gauge monorail vehicle under steady condition is symmetrical. Under pure lateral and roll conditions, the tire surface exhibits uneven wear patterns. Under daily operating conditions, the wear of the outside running tire of the wide wheel base monorail vehicle is higher than that of the inside running tire. Compared with existing straddle monorail vehicles, the maximum wear depth of running tires of wide wheel base monorail vehicles is reduced by 30.4%, 29.8%, 25.8%, and 21.3%, and the degree of partial wear is reduced by 34.4%, 39.2%, 30.1%, and 31.4%. Compared with existing straddle monorail vehicles, the wear resistance of the running tires of wide-gauge monorail vehicles has been significantly improved.
