Analysis of the effect of roughness on the sealing performance of end faces of microporous friction pairs

To study the influence of surface roughness on the sealing performance of the end face of microporous weaving friction vice, approximate simulation of end face roughness based on fractal theory is carried out, and a calculation model of gap lubrication film flow involving surface roughness is established, and the influence of different surface roughness on the sealing performance parameter of the end face of microporous weaving is investigated, and the influence of the parameters of the microporous weaving on the sealing performance of the end face under the same roughness is analyzed. The findings indicate that as surface roughness and rotational speed rise, so do the liquid film opening force and friction coefficient. Conversely, leakage somewhat decreases as surface roughness increases and increases as rotational speed increases. In the case of surface roughness S_a = 0.6 μm, the friction coefficient is smaller. The leakage is larger in the case of microporous weave compared with that of non-microporous weave. The friction coefficient tends to decrease with the increase of weave depth and area ratio, and the leakage tends to increase with the increase of weave depth and area ratio.
