Abstract

Original article: Wójcik, M. J., Nowicka, M. M., Bola, M., & Nowicka, A. (2019). Unconscious detection of one’s own image. Psychological Science, 30, 471–480. doi:10.1177/0956797618822971
In the original article, the number of trials per task and the presentation frequency of each stimulus type were omitted. This Corrigendum is adding these method details. The experimental design used in the study is further elaborated on in the new Supplemental Material available online, and references to this material are being included in the article. Also, the article is being updated to indicate that the Neurobehavioral Systems Presentation scripts used to present the task have been added to the Open Science Framework project.
The following specific changes are being made to the text of the article:
At the beginning of the Stimuli subsection (p. 472), the phrase “In the dot-probe task,” is being added to the beginning of the first sentence.
In the Dot-Probe Task subsection (p. 473), the following two sentences are being added after the eighth sentence: “Each of the four trial types (the combination of one of two cue-presentation sides and one of two target-presentation sides) was displayed 40 times. Each dot-probe task consisted, therefore, of 160 trials.” In addition, the following sentence is being added to the end of the same paragraph: “Note that the self-face was presented four times more frequently than a single other face (for further information, see the Supplemental Material available online).”
In the Identification Task subsection (p. 473), the following sentence is being added immediately prior to the last sentence: “Each identification task consisted of 40 trials presenting two other faces and 40 trials presenting an other face and a self-face.”
The second sentence of the Open Practices section (p. 479) is being amended to read as follows: “All data (mean amplitudes, reaction times, and visibility measures) and the scripts used to present the task have been made publicly available via the Open Science Framework and can be accessed at osf.io/4e7h9/.”
Finally, Supplemental Material is being added to this article. A new section, titled “Supplemental Material,” is being created on p. 479 to indicate this. The text of this section will read as follows: “Additional supporting information can be found at https://journals-sagepub-com.web.bisu.edu.cn/doi/suppl/10.1177/0956797618822971.”
