Abstract

Dr. S. Narayanan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad, India. He acquired his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Calicut, and PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Madras (2011). After his graduation, he worked as an Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering, Kerala till Dec 2012. Following that he got an opportunity to work as a post doctoral research fellow with Acoustics Research Group, Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre in Gas Turbine Noise, Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR), University of Southampton, UK, from Jan 2013 to Dec 2014 and later joined IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. His areas of expertise are in the fields of experimental aero-acoustics, high speed flows, turbulent flows, cavity flows and acoustics, airfoil noise, droplets/ sprays and thermoacoustic instability. He has over 30 peer-reviewed research publications in leading journals and a EU/US patent.
